Who We Are

The IIT Kanpur-La Trobe University Research Academy is a major research partnership formed between India’s premier institution, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and leading Australian educational institution, La Trobe University, established under an MOU signed in February 2020 .

Apart from the Joint Doctoral Degree Program on a substantial scale, the academy aims to focus on the solution-driven approach to address global problems defined under 10 Multidisciplinary Themes related to the Smart Cities development. Collaboration from industry is considered a key to success in solving some of the research, development and deployment challenges under various theme areas.
